Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Age & Date website at ageanddate.app and the Age & Date Android application (package com.ageanddate.app) — together, “the Service”. By using the Service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.
What the Service is
The Service is a collection of free date calculators and accompanying explanatory articles. It requires no account, costs nothing to use, and is funded entirely by display advertising. It is provided for general informational purposes.
Accuracy and limitations
The calculators are built and tested carefully, and the methods they use are documented on each calculator page and in the guides. Even so, results are provided without warranty of any kind, and you should not rely on them as the sole basis for a decision that carries financial, legal, medical or safety consequences.
Some known limitations are worth stating explicitly:
- Public holiday calendars cover national holidays for the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia only. Regional, state, provincial and sector-specific holidays are not included.
- Time zone data comes from your device's own copy of the IANA time zone database. If your device or browser is out of date, its rules may be too.
- Dates before a country adopted the Gregorian calendar are computed using proleptic Gregorian rules, which may differ from the date as recorded at the time.
- Historical dates and facts reflect widely accepted sources; where sources disagree, any calculation inherits that uncertainty.
Not medical advice
The pregnancy calculator applies a standard formula (Naegele's rule) to the dates you enter. It is an estimation tool for general information and planning. It is not medical advice, it cannot assess your pregnancy, confirm a pregnancy, or detect any complication, and it is not a diagnostic device. An estimated due date is a statistical midpoint, not a prediction.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional — a midwife, doctor or obstetric service — about your pregnancy, and never delay seeking medical advice because of something you read here.
Not legal or financial advice
The business days, date difference and countdown calculators are frequently used for deadlines, notice periods and contractual terms. They are not legal advice. Whether a given period is counted in calendar days or business days, whether the first or last day is included, and which jurisdiction's holidays apply are all questions determined by your contract and the applicable law — not by this Service. Where a deadline matters, confirm it with a qualified professional or the relevant authority.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- interfere with, disrupt or place an unreasonable load on the Service or its hosting infrastructure;
- attempt to circumvent, hide, block or automate interaction with the advertising that funds the Service;
- scrape or systematically copy the editorial content for republication without permission;
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
Ordinary personal and professional use — including using the results in your own work, quoting a short passage with attribution, or linking to any page — is welcome and needs no permission.
Intellectual property
The design, source code and written content of the Service are owned by its maintainer and protected by copyright. The name “Age & Date” and the site's visual identity may not be used to identify another product or service.
Results produced by the calculators from dates you enter are yours to use freely, with no restriction and no attribution required. Facts — a due date, a weekday, a working-day count — are not copyrightable, and we make no claim over them.
Advertising
The Service displays advertising served by Google (AdSense on the web, AdMob in the Android app). Ads are labelled and kept visually separate from results and editorial content. We do not control which specific ads are shown and do not endorse advertised products or services. If you are in a region requiring it, you are asked for consent before any personalised advertising is shown; declining does not restrict any feature. See the privacy policy.
Privacy
Calculations run entirely on your device and the dates you enter are never transmitted to us. The privacy policy forms part of these terms and explains this in full, including how advertising and consent are handled.
Availability
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Calculators, holiday calendars and guides may be added, altered or removed.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the maintainer of the Service shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, nor for any loss of profit, data, opportunity or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service — including any loss arising from reliance on a calculated result. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions of implied warranties or limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
Children
The Service is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. The effective date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced on this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you under the law of your country of residence.
